Friday was a great day for Boo Vazquez, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Joliet Slammers (22-15) to a 10-3 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (16-19) at Silver Cross Field.
The offense exploded for the the Joliet Slammers in the second. The Joliet Slammers' bats caught fire leading to six runs. The Joliet Slammers scored in the second on , a single by Melvin Rodriguez, , and a solo home run by Vazquez.
Eric Grabe had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the third and fifth innings and singled in the eighth inning.
Spencer Medick improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed three runs over eight innings. Medick struck out one, walked one and gave up nine hits.
Justin Sinibaldi (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
The Joliet Slammers were sparked by Vazquez and Marc Flores, who teamed up for four hits and seven RBIs.
