The Traverse City Beach Bums' late runs seal 12-6 blowout over the Windy City ThunderBolts

The Traverse City Beach Bums (13-25) beat the Windy City ThunderBolts (22-16) 12-6 on Sunday thanks to a four-run eighth inning.

The Traverse City Beach Bums scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Will Kengor, , an RBI single by Steven Patterson, and a single by Christian Santisteban.

Jose Vargas had a hot bat for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Vargas went 4-6, drove in one and scored four runs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

The Windy City ThunderBolts couldn't get anything going so long as Luke Barker was on the hill. Barker held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Reggie Lawson had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second and sixth innings.

Austin Bembnowski improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed four runs over five innings. Bembnowski struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.

Mitchell Cody couldn't get it done on the hill for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.
