The Palm Desert Coyotes get on top of the Midwest Haymakers early but can't hang on in 7-6 loss

The Palm Desert Coyotes (5-7) built an early edge on Saturday, but the Midwest Haymakers (5-7) roared back to steal a 7-6 victory at Palm Springs Turf Field.

While the Palm Desert Coyotes led until the fourth inning, the Midwest Haymakers worked their way back and took the lead on an error.

Beau Riportella did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Midwest Haymakers, reaching base two times. He singled in the second inning.

The Palm Desert Coyotes couldn't get anything going so long as Kawagashi Haruki was on the hill. Haruki gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Nathan Antone pitched lights out for the Palm Desert Coyotes. Antone held the Midwest Haymakers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Andrew Welwerts couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Palm Desert Coyotes, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
