An excellent effort by Steve Marino carried the Southern Illinois Miners (22-12) to a 14-5 win over the River City Rascals (19-15) on Wednesday at CarShield Field.
Marino rocked the River City Rascals with two home runs. Marino went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Marino homered in the second and fourth innings.

Jason Merjano got on base three times in the game for the River City Rascals. He singled in the seventh and eighth innings.
Francis Ramirez was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
