The Evansville Otters (17-9) built an early lead against the Florence Freedom (7-17), scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 10-7 win on Friday at UC Health Stadium.

The Evansville Otters scored in the first on an error, an RBI double by Nik Balog, a groundout by Julio Rodriguez, and an RBI single by Christopher Riopedre.

Josh Allen reached base five times in the game for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the first and sixth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Daniel Fraga racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Payton Baskette improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Stetson Nelson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.
