Aaron Dudley had three extra base hits as the Normal CornBelters (11-17) took home an 8-4 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (11-18) at GCS Ballpark on Sunday.
He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third and eighth innings.The Normal CornBelters relied on Horacio Acosta to eat up innings en route to the win. Acosta pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out three.
Blake Brown reached base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Will Landsheft ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out four.
The Normal CornBelters were sparked by Dudley and Nolan Meadows, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
