The Lake Erie Crushers (6-0) beat the Washington Wild Things (3-4) 9-6 but needed 13 innings to do so on Friday at CONSOL Energy Park.

William Beckwith had three extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the fourth inning, singled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the second and thirteenth innings.

Todd Kibby baffled the Washington Wild Things, striking out six batters. Kibby allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Jamal Austin reached base five times in the game for the Washington Wild Things. He also drove in two runners. He singled in the third, ninth, and eleventh innings.

Devin Malone improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. Malone struck out one, walked two and gave up one hit.
