An excellent effort by Jake Heissler carried the Alpine Cowboys (37-23) to a 7-0 win over the Roswell Invaders (33-27) on Sunday at Kokernot Field.

Heissler racked up 12 strikeouts in the the Alpine Cowboys win. The Alpine Cowboys' pitcher gave up just three hits over seven shutout innings.

The offense exploded for the the Alpine Cowboys in the fifth. The Alpine Cowboys' bats caught fire leading to six runs. The Alpine Cowboys scored in the fifth on a wild pitch, an RBI single by Colin Forgey, an RBI single by Robert Zaragoza, , and a two-run error.

Reagan Rutledge got on base three times in the game for the Alpine Cowboys. He singled in the first and fifth innings.

Josh Wright ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
