A great effort by Matt Patrone carried the Santa Fe Fuego (11-7) to an 18-2 win over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (8-12) on Saturday at Fort Marcy Park.

Patrone rocked the Las Vegas Train Robbers with two home runs. Patrone went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Patrone homered in the first and eighth innings.

The Santa Fe Fuego continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Santa Fe Fuego scored six runs in the last three innings to finish off the blowout win. The Santa Fe Fuego scored eight runs in the first on the Santa Fe Fuego scored in the first on an RBI single by Chevas Numata, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly by David Brandt, a groundout by Ruben Rivera, an RBI single by Heath Nichols, and a three-run home run by Patrone.

Nichols improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed two runs over six innings. Nichols struck out six, walked two and gave up eight hits.

DJ Russ (0-1) took the loss for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
