The Schaumburg Boomers (37-53) beat the Gateway Grizzlies (39-50) 4-2 on Sunday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium behind Cam Sherrer, who collected three hits.

Brett Mabry kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Gateway Grizzlies batters. Mabry allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk over seven innings.

Seth Heck was solid at the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Heck went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Trevor Richards was charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
