Nik Balog went 2-4 and hit a home run, helping the Evansville Otters (52-31) to a 5-3 victory over the River City Rascals (47-36) on Saturday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

Despite the loss, the River City Rascals' Joe Scanio dominated the Evansville Otters' batters, giving up two runs and striking out 11.

Zach Kometani had a hot bat for the River City Rascals. Kometani went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second and fourth innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Brett Marshall improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Stephen Frey (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
