Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Tuesday as the Schaumburg Boomers (33-46) outscored the Traverse City Beach Bums (45-31) 14-11.

The teams totaled 33 hits in the game.

Willi Martin racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Jay Austin put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He tripled in the first inning, singled in the sixth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

Jake Joyce got the win, running his season record to 2-3. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Joyce struck out three, walked two and gave up two hits.

Alan Oaks ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The Schaumburg Boomers easily handled the Traverse City Beach Bums pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
