A walk-off single from Cody Livesay brought home the winning run for the Gateway Grizzlies (28-45) in a 5-4 victory over the Joliet Slammers (30-44) at GCS Ballpark on Wednesday.
Livesay was solid at the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Livesay went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the second and ninth innings.
Craig Massoni racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Dillon Haviland allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out two over seven innings of work.
Mike Garza had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
