Early lead not enough for the Washington Wild Things, drop 3-2 decision to the Schaumburg Boomers

The Washington Wild Things (31-41) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Schaumburg Boomers (30-42) on Sunday.

The Schaumburg Boomers took the lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Cam Sherrer.

Kyle Ruchim boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

Matt Ford was hot from the plate for the Washington Wild Things. Ford went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, fifth, and eighth innings.

Raul Jacobson recorded his third win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Jacobson struck out six, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Tim Flight (3-6) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
