A magnificent effort by Michael Schweiss carried the Normal CornBelters (40-31) to an 11-0 win over the Rockford Aviators (41-30) on Saturday at The Corn Crib.

Schweiss struck out 14 hitters en route to the the Normal CornBelters win. The Normal CornBelters' pitcher gave up just three hits over nine shutout innings.

The Normal CornBelters' bats came to life in the third inning. In the inning the Normal CornBelters scored six runs. The Normal CornBelters scored in the third on an error, an RBI single by Cameron Monger, a two-run single by Monger, an RBI single by Ozney Guillen, and a sacrifice fly by Mark Micowski.

Patrick McKenna had a hot bat for the Normal CornBelters. McKenna went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

Nick Grim (1-6) took the loss for the Rockford Aviators. He allowed nine runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
