The Normal CornBelters (37-31) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Florence Freedom (32-36) roared back to steal a 6-1 victory at UC Health Stadium.

While the Normal CornBelters led until the fifth inning, the Florence Freedom worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Collins Cuthrell.

The Florence Freedom were led by Matt Rubino's hitting. Rubino went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Chuck Weaver struck out seven, paving the way for a the Florence Freedom win. Weaver allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over seven innings.

Chandler Jagodzinski was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
