Jose Vargas hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Traverse City Beach Bums (33-24) to a win on Friday, as the Traverse City Beach Bums fell to the Lake Erie Crushers (25-31) 6-5 at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Jose Barraza racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the first innings and homered in the fourth inning.

Trevor Longfellow put together a nice outing. The Traverse City Beach Bums managed just two hits off of Longfellow, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

The Lake Erie Crushers couldn't get anything going so long as Alex Phillips was on the hill. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just two hits off of Phillips, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Todd Kibby improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed two runs over five innings. Kibby struck out four, walked one and gave up four hits.

Luis DeJesus was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
