Three first-inning runs helped the Normal CornBelters (25-17) to a 7-3 win over the River City Rascals (22-19) at The Corn Crib on Thursday.

The Normal CornBelters scored in the first on a solo home run by Mark Micowski, an RBI single by Aaron Dudley, and a sacrifice fly by Richard Lucas.

The Normal CornBelters were led by a flawless day at the dish by Dudley, who went 3-3 against the River City Rascals' pitching.

Michael Schweiss got the win for the Normal CornBelters thanks to eight strikeouts. Schweiss allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks over eight innings.

Zach Kometani had two extra-base hits for the River City Rascals. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.

Clint Wright (0-2) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
