A walk-off single from Jerrud Sabourin brought home the winning run for the Southern Illinois Miners (23-14) in a 5-4 victory over the Washington Wild Things (14-23) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Friday.

Sabourin was hot from the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. Sabourin went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the second and ninth innings.

Michael Earley racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Despite the loss, the Washington Wild Things' Tim Flight dominated the Southern Illinois Miners' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Alan Oaks improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed one run over one inning. Oaks struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.
