Coco Johnson hit two home runs to carry the Windy City ThunderBolts (7-13) to a 13-2 win over the Rockford Aviators (15-6) at Standard Bank Stadium.
Johnson racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
The Windy City ThunderBolts continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Windy City ThunderBolts scored four runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. A three-run home run by Ryan Deitrich helped the Windy City ThunderBolts score three runs in the seventh. The Windy City ThunderBolts had four hits in the inning.
The Windy City ThunderBolts relied on Travis Tingle to eat up innings en route to the win. Tingle allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Rockford Aviators' Brian Bistagne. Bistagne went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.
Nick Grim ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
