Eddie Cody held the Southern Illinois Miners (11-5) scoreless for seven innings to boost the Schaumburg Boomers (7-10) to a 3-1 victory.

Cody allowed six hits, two walks and struck out five.

The Schaumburg Boomers were led by Craig Massey's hitting. Massey went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.

Miguel Ramirez was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
