Efrain Nieves hopes every outing could go as well as Tuesday, as Nieves threw a shutout to carry the Evansville Otters (8-2) to a 7-0 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (4-6) at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Nieves held the Lake Erie Crushers scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on seven hits while striking out six.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Evansville Otters in the third. The Evansville Otters' bats caught fire leading to four runs.

Shayne Houck racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Jason Wilson (0-2) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out nine, and allowed five runs.
