Niko Vasquez went 2-4 as the Southern Illinois Miners (53-36) took home a 4-3 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums (36-53) at Wuerfel Park on Wednesday.

The Southern Illinois Miners relied on Anthony Montefusco to eat up innings en route to the win. Montefusco allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Jovan Rosa racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the first inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Alex Phillips couldn't get it done on the mound for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
