Four first-inning runs helped the Lake Erie Crushers (52-43) to a 5-4 win over the River City Rascals (61-35) at All Pro Freight Stadium on Sunday.

The Lake Erie Crushers scored in the first on an RBI single by Andrew Davis, an RBI single by Anderson Hidalgo, an RBI double by Vincent Mejia, and an RBI single by Ryan Hutchison.

Adam Ford had a hot bat for the Lake Erie Crushers. Ford went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Jon Myers led the River City Rascals' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He tripled in the seventh inning.

Connor Whalen recorded his third win of the year for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Whalen struck out three, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Bryce Shafer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
