The Schaumburg Boomers make the most of 10 hits in 9-7 victory over the Normal CornBelters

The Schaumburg Boomers (50-34) and the Normal CornBelters (42-41) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-7 win at The Corn Crib.

Tony Delmonico led the Schaumburg Boomers' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first innings.

Patrick McKenna racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the second inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Seth Webster recorded his sixth win for the Schaumburg Boomers even though he allowed five runs over six innings. Webster struck out five, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Stephen Frey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
