An impressive effort by Troy Marks carried the Washington Wild Things (42-25) to a 5-2 win over the Frontier Greys (23-44) on Saturday at CONSOL Energy Park.

Marks kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine the Frontier Greys batters. Marks allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over seven innings.

The Washington Wild Things scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead. The Washington Wild Things scored in the first on an RBI double by Ryan Kresky, a sacrifice fly by Scott Kalamar, a two-run home run by William Beckwith, and a fielder's choice.

Beckwith racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Washington Wild Things.

Jon Dziomba had two extra-base hits for the Frontier Greys. He doubled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Keith Picht couldn't get it done on the hill for the Frontier Greys, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
