Santiago Chirino went 1-2, helping the Normal CornBelters (22-18) to a 7-4 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (16-25) on Thursday at Standard Bank Stadium.

He singled in the second inning.

The Windy City ThunderBolts had no answer for Charley Short, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Windy City ThunderBolts managed just one hit off of the the Normal CornBelters' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Evan Button racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Victor Larez brought the heat against the Normal CornBelters during his outing. Larez held the Normal CornBelters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Jason Postill improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Postill struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Daniel Cropper couldn't get it done on the bump for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
