It took 11 innings, but the Gateway Grizzlies (29-13) managed to put away the Florence Freedom (17-21) 3-2 on Tuesday at GCS Ballpark.

With the score tied at two, was hit by a pitch, scoring Kale Kiser.

Niko Vasquez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Gateway Grizzlies, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.

Tucker Jensen baffled the Florence Freedom, striking out six batters. Jensen allowed two earned runs, three hits and three walks over six innings.

Peter Gehle pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four.

Richard Barrett improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Ed Kohout ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
