Solo blast in opening act fuels 8-3 the Gateway Grizzlies victory over the Lake Erie Crushers

Three first-inning runs helped the Gateway Grizzlies (16-10) to an 8-3 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (13-12) at GCS Ballpark on Friday.

The Gateway Grizzlies scored in the first on a solo home run by Michael Wing, an RBI home run by Wing, and a two-run home run by Wing.

Richard Seigel racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Gateway Grizzlies. He homered in the third inning.

Tyler Thompson put together a nice outing. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just one hit off of the the Gateway Grizzlies' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Seth Granger racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth innings.

Tucker Jensen got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Mickey Jannis couldn't get it done on the hill for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.
