Kibby allows no runs to lead the Lake Erie Crushers past the Normal CornBelters 7-1

Todd Kibby kept the Normal CornBelters (7-14) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Lake Erie Crushers (13-9) beat the Normal CornBelters, 7-1.

Kibby allowed four hits, no walks and struck out four.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Lake Erie Crushers to easily put away the Normal CornBelters. An RBI single by Seth Granger, a two-run double by Adam Ford, and an RBI single by Emmanuel Quiles during the first inning and an RBI double by Anderson Hidalgo, an RBI double by Ford, and an RBI single by Quiles in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Lake Erie Crushers.

The Lake Erie Crushers got their bats going early, scoring four runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Normal CornBelters.

Corey MacDonald ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

The Lake Erie Crushers' Ford, Hidalgo and Craig Hertler combined for five hits and four RBIs.
