The Southern Illinois Miners (11-7) put in a full day's work in a 17-inning, 2-1 win over the Joliet Slammers (6-12) Sunday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

With the score tied at one, Tyler Booth came to the plate and singled, scoring Jared McDonald.

McDonald put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the twelfth and fourteenth innings.

Jon Levin pitched lights out for the Southern Illinois Miners. The Joliet Slammers managed just one hit off of Levin, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Russell Moldenhauer led the Joliet Slammers' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eleventh inning.

Sam Moore (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed one run.
