With the score tied at one, Tyler Booth came to the plate and singled, scoring Jared McDonald.
McDonald put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the twelfth and fourteenth innings.
Jon Levin pitched lights out for the Southern Illinois Miners. The Joliet Slammers managed just one hit off of Levin, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his three innings of work.
