The Traverse City Beach Bums (6-5) and the Lake Erie Crushers (6-5) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Traverse City Beach Bums that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-1 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

George Barber got on base three times in the game for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Will Rankin put together a nice outing. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just one hit off of Rankin, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Connor Whalen was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Traverse City Beach Bums batters and allowing three runs.

Alex Gillingham improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Whalen was charged with his first loss of the year.
