The Joliet Slammers (4-3) and the Normal CornBelters (2-5) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-6 win at Silver Cross Field.

Russell Moldenhauer racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the seventh inning.

Mark Micowski paced the Normal CornBelters at the plate. Micowski went 4-5, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

Chase Doremus improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Rich Mascheri (0-1) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
