Justin Vasquez collected four hits, helping the Schaumburg Boomers (2-4) to an 8-3 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (1-5) on Thursday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Stew Brase brought the heat against the Schaumburg Boomers during his outing. Brase gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Cal Bowling got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. Bowling struck out three, walked five and gave up three hits.

Miguel Ramirez (0-1) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
