Josh Allen went 2-4, sparking the Evansville Otters (2-1) to a 5-4 victory over the Normal CornBelters (1-2) on Sunday at The Corn Crib.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.The Evansville Otters relied on Terance Marin to eat up innings en route to the win. Marin allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Aaron Dudley paced the Normal CornBelters at the plate. Dudley went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Ethan Elias was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
