The Southern Illinois Miners (3-2) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Lake Erie Crushers (2-3), securing a 7-6 victory on Wednesday at Rent One Park.

Phil Butler racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Dayne Quist improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jordan Wellander couldn't get it done on the bump for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
