The El Paso Diablos hang on against the Lincoln Saltdogs, 7-6

The Lincoln Saltdogs (7-6) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the El Paso Diablos (4-8) on Tuesday, as the Lincoln Saltdogs fell 7-6 at Haymarket Park after falling behind by four runs in the second inning.

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored on an RBI single by Mike Provencher and in the second inning, a groundout by Dan Carroll in the fourth inning, an RBI single by Provencher in the fifth inning, and an RBI double by Carroll and a groundout by David Espinosa in the sixth inning. Still, the Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't draw even.

Brian Joynt racked up four RBIs on four hits for the El Paso Diablos. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings and doubled in the sixth innings.

The Lincoln Saltdogs were led by a flawless day at the dish by Ian Gac, who went 3-3 against the El Paso Diablos' pitching. He singled in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.

Adam Tollefson got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Nathan Moreau (0-2) took the loss for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
