The Evansville Otters take out the Schaumburg Boomers with help from Elder, 5-1

Chris Elder had two extra base hits, sparking the Evansville Otters (36-37) to a 5-1 victory in seven innings over the Schaumburg Boomers (44-30) on Saturday at Bosse Field.

He tripled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Schaumburg Boomers couldn't get anything going as long as Robert Ramer was on the mound. Ramer gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Tony Delmonico (0-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

Elder, Brian Erie and John Schultz helped lead the Evansville Otters. They combined for six hits and three RBIs.
