The Washington Wild Things outlast the Southern Illinois Miners in extras, 8-7

The Washington Wild Things (28-32) beat the Southern Illinois Miners (33-27) 8-7 but needed 10 innings to do so on Saturday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

With the score tied at seven in the tenth inning, Darian Sandford came to the plate and singled, scoring Matt Mirabal.

Jovan Rosa put himself in scoring position with four extra-base hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the second and fourth innings, singled in the sixth inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.

Jereme Milons did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Southern Illinois Miners, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second and eighth innings.

Jhonny Montoya recorded his third win of the year for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed one run over two innings. Montoya struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Race Parmenter was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Washington Wild Things were sparked by Rosa and Sandford, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.
