It took 10 innings, but the Florence Freedom (33-24) managed to put away the Schaumburg Boomers (32-26) 8-5 on Wednesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

With the score tied at five, Bobby Joe Tannehill came to the plate and singled, bringing home Jim Jacquot.

The Florence Freedom were led by Joe Tannehill's hitting. Joe Tannehill went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the eighth inning and singled in the fourth and tenth innings.

The Schaumburg Boomers' lineup had no answer for Jorge Marban. Marban held the Schaumburg Boomers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Bobby Martin racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.

Brandon Mathes improved to 3-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. Mathes struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

James Bierlein ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
