The Florence Freedom (29-20) used a five-run explosion in the third inning to get past the Washington Wild Things (23-26) 11-5 on Friday at UCMC Stadium.

Jim Jacquot racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Jason Wilson got his third win for the Florence Freedom despite allowing five runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Shawn Smith couldn't get it done on the mound for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
