Matt Zielinski kept the Joliet Slammers (11-17) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Evansville Otters (19-8) beat the Joliet Slammers, 5-0.

Zielinski allowed four hits, no walks and struck out three.

Andrew Clark racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Shawn Kale (1-1) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
