The Lake Erie Crushers need extra frames to finish the Normal CornBelters, win 4-3

The Lake Erie Crushers (14-16) needed 10 innings on Wednesday to take down the Normal CornBelters (17-13) 4-3 at All Pro Freight Stadium.

With the score tied at three, Emmanuel Quilles came to the plate and singled, plating Anderson Hidalgo.

Quilles racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the seventh, eighth, and tenth innings.

Brad Duffy brought the heat against the Normal CornBelters during his outing. Duffy held the Normal CornBelters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

T.J. Gavlik was hot from the plate for the Normal CornBelters. Gavlik went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Mickey Jannis got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Jannis struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Mitch Mormann (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
