Both the Evansville Otters (16-7) and the Lake Erie Crushers (10-14) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Evansville Otters that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

The Evansville Otters staved off the Lake Erie Crushers as the Lake Erie Crushers were unable to match the Evansville Otters down the stretch.

The Lake Erie Crushers scored on a sacrifice fly by Ricardo Lizcano in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Andrew Davis in the sixth inning. Still, the Lake Erie Crushers couldn't draw even.

Nick Schwaner racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Matt Zielinski improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed two runs over six innings. Zielinski struck out two, walked two and gave up six hits.

Matt Smith (2-1) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just eight innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
