The Frontier Greys (9-11) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-1 to the Traverse City Beach Bums (11-10) on Sunday.
While the Frontier Greys led until the fifth inning, the Traverse City Beach Bums worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI double by Marcus Nidiffer.
Zach Kometani paced the Traverse City Beach Bums at the plate. Kometani went 3-4. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
The Frontier Greys had no answer for Nick Capito, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Capito gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Scott Dunn recorded his fourth win of the year for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Joe Zeller was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
