The Windy City ThunderBolts (4-12) didn't stand a chance on Friday, as the Washington Wild Things (10-5) captured a blowout 7-1 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

The Washington Wild Things scored three runs in the fifth on an RBI single by C.J. Beatty, an RBI single by Shain Stoner, and a sacrifice fly by Nick Akins.

Beatty had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Shawn Blackwell's seven strikeouts helped the Washington Wild Things to the victory. Blackwell allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks over six innings.

Chad Cregar led the Windy City ThunderBolts' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

Travis Strong couldn't get it done on the mound for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out 12, and allowed five runs.

The Washington Wild Things were sparked by Jim Vahalik and Stoner, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.
