The Schaumburg Boomers (8-4) pounded the Normal CornBelters (7-4) on Wednesday 12-5 at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored three runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Bobby Martin, an RBI single by Martin, and a two-run single by Craig Hertler.

Sean Mahley racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Patrick McKenna racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He tripled in the first inning.

Cody Griebling got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Tyler Lavigne ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
