A great effort by Richard Sullivan lifted the Southern Illinois Miners (2-0) to a 1-0 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (0-3) on Saturday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Sullivan kept the Windy City ThunderBolts off the board during his seven innings of work. Sullivan struck out eight and allowed no walks and two hits.

Blayne Weller was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Southern Illinois Miners batters and allowing one run.

Weller (0-1) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts.
